House Forsaken Policies

To insure the continued quality of our gaming group enjoyed by our membership, we have set certain policies that shape and define our actions/activities as well as help to maintain organization and a smoothly run operation. These policies are a combination of common sense, unity, experience, the "good of the order", ethical behavior, and most importantly, respect.

Our purpose is to help us maintain an enjoyable gaming and social atmosphere as well as a successful organization for gaming free from bad influences and other negative characteristics commonly found throughout the gaming communities. Our intent is to clearly define these policies so that we may govern our organization efficiently and have a detailed as possible source should question arise as to the appropriate manner in handling any given situation.

This section is a continued work, subject to change. Our policy is not written in stone but used as a guide. Improvements will always be made through experience, growth, and encountering new situations as a clan. What we learn through it all will be applied here to incorporate the most effective methods in operating our clan. Members are strongly encouraged to contribute constructive criticism for the goal of making our environment the best it can be!

CODE of CONDUCT:

All members of HF are expected to conduct themselves accordingly, both
amongst ourselves and in the online communities HF is involved in. HF has founded our code of conduct on Respect and Maturity. HF is a highly diversified group. Therefore, it is important that all members have the
maturity to remain open to differences of opinion, beliefs, taste, and new outlooks they may encounter, and always be mindful and respectful to their fellow members. As long as we all issue Respect and Maturity in our activities within the clan and community, problems arising should be few and easily resolved.

Though we do not have a long list of Do's and Don’ts, there are certain
anti-social behaviors and unacceptable conduct that will NOT be tolerated within HF! Fighting with fellow members is unacceptable. We realize that disputes and arguments may occur out of misunderstandings or difference of opinion, however verbal attacks or other such hostilities towards fellow members will not be tolerated. Racism, sexism, harassment, overly inappropriate use of foul language, and other such behavior will also not be tolerated.

COMMUNITY INTERACTION:

HF is very active and involved in many of the gaming communities. We have achieved a certain level of respect and notoriety amongst these communities, and for that reason all members of HF are expected to conduct themselves in a positive manner! HF members will display maturity and respect at all times when interacting with the gaming community. Involvement in arguments, personal attacks, overly excessive language, or negative game specific behavior will not be tolerated. Displaying poor behavior and attitude not only reflects upon one member, but HF as a whole. All interaction within forums, chat environments, game servers or otherwise will be governed by our principles of respect, maturity, and good conduct. Failure to do so will result in immediate discipline of the offending member.

MEMBERS - RESOLVING DISPUTES

As already mentioned, negative conduct between members will not be tolerated. All members should treat each other with respect and as brothers.

HF is a family oriented group that supports each other and will not entertain behavior that jeopardizes that atmosphere. HF realizes that disputes may occur, however all parties involved are expected to resolve their differences in a timely, respectful and mature manner. Disputes will not be conducted in public. Our forums are not a place to fight amongst each other and only stand to create more problems, lower the moral of the membership, and reflect a bad light upon the clan as a whole. For this reason the following has been established as a guideline in resolving any conflicts between members.

-) Members with a dispute should first attempt to resolve the problem
amongst themselves through the use of email, ICQ, or chat. Do NOT take it to the forums!

-) Should resolving the problem between members alone fail, the problem should be addressed using the chain of command. Members should contact their respective realm staff. Should the staff member be unable to resolve the problem, the Realm Leader will then intervene. If after both the Realm Staff member and Realm Leader are still unable to resolve the conflict, the Realm Leader will address the issue to one or all of the clan staff. At that time the problem will be resolved immediately by the discretion of the HF Staff combined.

-) After the conflict has been addressed accordingly and the parties involved are unable to let the issue rest, they will be disciplined with suspension. Suspension entails one full week where their forum privileges are revoked and possible game time loss for matches. Their membership will also be evaluated to determine if they will remain a member of HF.

CLAN INTERACTION:

Interaction with fellow clans will be approached just as interaction amongst ourselves. Members will be respectful and socialize accordingly.
Should some form of conflict arise with another clan or particular members of other clans, the respect we give will end, however arguing shall not begin. Negative clan relations will not be entertained. Any member faced with such an incident should ignore the parties behind the problem and address the incident to their Realm Leader and Staff if the problem persists.

Should any problems need to be addressed officially with another clan, it will be the responsibility of the clan's appointed Clan Relations Representative to resolve the issue. The clan staff shall also be involved to support the CRR in any form needed. The bottom line is HF will not entertain nor be associated with such poor behavior and ridiculous bickering and fighting.

CLAN VERSUS REALM POLICIES:

In the new age of House Forsaken we have realized the discrepancies between our realms. Each game is different therefore our realm policies have to concur as well. Many questions you have about policies should be brought up to the respective Realm Leadership(s). For example, if you play a game as a House Forsaken member but play in another HF supported game of HF for another clan, you will need to ask the respective realm Leaders if it will be ok. In many cases this is not ok however it is always good to ask before you are found to be doing something wrong or mistrustful.
